Is the HIV DNA PCR test accurate for early diagnosis? - hiv diagnosis more condition_symptoms

If someone had unprotected sexual intercourse with an infected person - and then makes a DNA PCR test after 3 weeks and is negative. Does this mean that most HIV-negative? I'm confused, because this test of "genetic material of the virus itself is used. But HIV in semen, not genetic .. So how is it for the actual virus in your DNA?

  1. Not true. At this point, it should not be relied upon to determine whether HIV transmission has not occurred.
It is not advisable to use this test for people at low risk for HIV infection because it is a false positive rate of 3%.

There may be an interesting idea, the PCR test, which was positive in only 10 days not to use the target for this test.

Use the standard HIV EIA and Western Blot - are much more accurate. And recognize the state of technology today, these tests can HIV / AIDS in 41 days --

Yes, the CDC continues to say that you want to search for antibodies to 6 months, however, admit that 97% of the tests were positive after 3 months. However, according to published data (see below), you already know 6 weeks, if HIV has not been broadcast.
